Have you ever aware the things that your kids scrolled in the smartphone? Ever know why they always coped up in their room 24/7 unless it's time to eat? Or why their skills are not developing much as their peers? It is all related to what they are currently hooked on. As parents, it is our duty to know the essentials that is related to our child development as well as the regulations to help the kids grows. Guiding the children towards a good path is also important to ensure they are well kept from the bad influence that could lead them ruins their life. That is why individuals must prepare themselves with knowledge on child development before getting into marriage.
However, I am not here to write on the steps to become a good parent as myself still paving my way in college. And there's a lot more for me to learn about life, mistakes to be acknowledged so that I can make corrections and experience new things. But, what I intended to write is about the effect of pornography in the spiritual, psychological, familial and social of oneself. There is an event that had triggered me to write upon this issue and the first effect is upon the spiritual.
It is important to know that once a person watched a pornography video, they will become addicted to it. How is that so? Pornography can be categorized as lust, which contribute to desire of oneself. Once the desire is developed, they are willingly to do anything to satisfy their desire. This could lead to their spirit become slaves to the desire of wanted to watch pornography anytime, anywhere. People these days have unlimited access to the internet either browsing thru their smartphones, tablets or PC. The various medium can be used to fulfill their lust desire and to exercise this, ones need to have the spiritual desire to find and watch the video of pornography. Hence, this acts will make their spirit changed to lust and desire for sex as the pornography shows the various types of sex in a way that is prohibited not only by Allah, but also all other religions. If your spirit have gone to be the slave of lust, none of your works will be completed as your mind only rotates about the bad things that you have watched.
Next, addiction to pornography also influenced the psychological mental of mankind. A study in the Australia shows the relation of clinical depression and addiction of sex. The study were conducted on men that exercise the sex habit for examples trolling pornography activities, engage in sex chats and also using the webcams to satisfy their sex deprived. The result came out as the subject were divided more or less equally to three types of mental health problems, that are severe depression, anxiety and stress. It is believed that pornography can caused a biochemical "rush" towards the man that caused the brain locked the image. Through this, even small gestures of hand or facial expressions may triggered the feeling of arousal. Once locked, it will be very hard to erase the image easily.
Addiction to pornography also leads to familial problems such as divorce, child abandoning and lost interests in own family. The main problem will affect the spouse, if the husband addicted to pornography, big possibility that he will lost interest in his wife. As we all know, watching pornography gives a standard and different definition of sexual intercourse. Surely the husband might lose the sparks of being with his wife after knowing that he can't get the same feeling as watching the pornography. Therefore, the husband most likely will find another medium to get the same feeling such as online chats, pornography websites in order to reach his standard meaning of sexual intercourse. Seeing this, the wife would surely notice the less intercourse thus would cause a riot in family and leads to divorce. The divorce would affect their children as they will lost the love of parents at such an early age. Moreover, this act would also give a trauma to the children as they wont have trust to owning a family. Hence, it is important to step back as early as possible if you have taken the first step to protect your family institution.
Other than that, pornography addiction can cause harm to the social level of an individual. The person addicted will lose focus in everything they engaged to such as in work, family responsibilities, studies and others. I can say that the people involved in pornography will try their best to cover the addiction from the eyes of family and friends because this is a very shameful act that would ruin the image of family institution. However, we can tell that when someone is not doing well in their work, there must be something that had taken their focus rather than works. It is bad to know that the addicted man would easily become bored and will seek another level forms of pornography. Even worse, the man who regularly access the sites have the tendency to be diagnosed with abnormal sexualities such as rape, excessive sex and sexual aggression. Furthermore, the man would regard women as their slaves and "sex objects". It is also known that most child offenders are pornography addicts and since they are not satisfied by only watching, they tend to try it themselves. This is such a shameful act of grownups as we are the one that should protect the children. Hence, engaged with pornography makes a man lose focus in their jobs and leads to bad crime such as abuse and pedophilia.
To sum up, pornography is bad a habit that could ruin your entire life if no action are taken. If you are still in the safe zone (not watching pornography) then stay safe and beware of misleading advertisement. If you are addicted, now you know the long term effect if you continue with the act and it is not too late to turn into a new leaf. In conditions, you have the will to change and seek for help. You will need as many support as you can in order to change. Remember the people around you if they know you are involved in pornography, image their heart shatters once this news breaks in.
