Session 6- Lesson from Surah Al-Baqarah 25

We are not called humans if we are not tempted to own nice clothes, good food and others.

This is the rewards promised by Allah S.W.T for his truly believers that exercise all five Islamic oath wholeheartedly, with the full devotion to Allah Al-Mighty.

As per mentioned by Allah S.W.T in Surah Al-Baqarah verse 25,

"Give good news ˹O Prophet˺ to those who believe and do good that they will have Gardens under which rivers flow. Whenever provided with fruit, they will say, “This is what we were given before,” for they will be served fruit that looks similar ˹but tastes different˺. They will have pure spouses,1 and they will be there forever."

Allah has mentioned above all the promised reward given to all his devoted believer.

Hence, make sure we have all the deeds needed to be able to get all the rewards promised in heaven.

May Allah grants us with the best spot in hereafter.

Session 5- Lesson from Al-Baqarah 154

The hardest thing to is letting go of someone, let it be someone close to you, your acquaintances, someone in your circle or even your cats.

Losing someone left a heartache that we can never see and only time can heal it, although when it will heal still questionable.

As per my experience, I lost both my close relative in the same year, starting with my aunty (closed one in fact) in June 2009, followed by my grandfather in September of the same year.

It pains me even more because I could not witness her final moment before she was buried as I am already on my way to a hockey match in national level.

She was one of the persons that I look up for in the term of how she manages her life and she always give me a good advice despite she is also fighting with an actively growing fibroid.

It was a month after she undergone an operation to get rid of the fibroid that she left us, and the last time I met her was two weeks before and she also wished me luck on my game.

The pain is still there, but I need to be strong and be patient as advised by Allah S.W.T in surah Al-Baqarah verse 154.

The lesson that we can learn from the verse is if we lose someone because they are Jihad Fi Sabilillah, then we need to know that their soul never dies (literally) because their place already saved in Jannah.

So, the ones that is left in this world, need to be patient and accept the fate wholeheartedly.

Session 4- Lesson from Surah Yusuf

In this session, I am reminded with the plot in most common drama series where the antagonist did what he did due to jealousy towards protagonist’s life.

The same story told by extract of Surah Yusuf when the brothers of prophet Yusuf abandoned him in a well because the jealous feeling they had when their father paid extra attention to Yusuf well-being rather than the other kids.

We need to be able to control our feelings to avoid any bad things to happen that will probably affect our future as well.

Also, jealousy will make people icy where they will treat other people in a cold way and that vibe will surely a turn off for people to befriend with you.

Other than that, prophet Yusuf also teaches us to always depends on Allah S.W.T despite all the challenges we faced, because there must be silver lining in everything.

Even though he is dumped in the well by his brothers, he keeps faith that Allah Al-Mighty will help him and eventually, he become the son of Minister during his time.

Lastly, we cannot bow to our nafs and in our case, we need to observe the way we spend our money and to where the money goes.

Remember to save first, then we can spend the leftovers.

 Daily Thurs Evening Session

Session 3- Embracing Life and Death.

Early in the last Monday morning, my mum got a call from mosque representative that she is needed to bath the body of a women.

The woman was reported dead since 12am that morning and thankfully is well taken care by the family.

It took around one hour for my mum to fulfil her duty, and when she got back, she told us that the woman was dying for almost two already.

The family were well informed to get ready for bad news anytime and during her last moment, she still able to smile and her death was just like as usual she went to sleep.

May she will be granted a good place.

Just like Allah said in Holy Quran, Surah Al-Anbiya verse 35-40, Allah mentioned that every living soul will face death, and we will all go back to Him, when the time comes.

And just so you know, there is no second chance will be given to those who wanted to repent after the soul has left the body.

Therefore, stop asking when or where your death will take place, but prepare yourself with lots of deeds before the time comes.

Session 2- Love the Environment Al-Baqarah 21-25

Allah has provided various resources for all His creation to help them survive in this world.

By His creation, it means all the living things on the Earth, humans, animals and trees.

The idea of us living together on the Earth is for all the creature to complete each other in an ecosystem.

The human will need the natural resources to stay alive, foods that is provided by animals and plants as well as other necessities.

Allah S.W.T mentioned in the Quran Surah Al-Baqarah verse 21-25, He has completely provided all resources for his creation so the responsibility of taking care all the resources falls to all creatures that lives in this world.

Every living creature have their own rights that we have to respect such as less deforestation so that the animals have habitat to live, less plastic usage to save the sea creatures and others.

Together we are going to make it right step by step by following the environmental campaign held by government or any NGO that protects the nature to ensure the sustainability of the resources provided by Allah S.W.T

 Daily Thurs evening session

Session one- Ethics of disagreement

Often, we faced many challenges in coming up with a decision during a discussion.

Let it be a group discussion, weekly company meetings or even in parliament.

The differences in throwing out opinion leads to contradiction idea between the people that is involve in the discussion.

Sometimes, a heated discussion would lead into argument between the members and longer time would be needed to reach a decision if the argument worsen.

Ones should take a lesson from Surah an-Nisa verse 59-65, where Allah says to His Believer to always accept a decision wholeheartedly.

Hence, we need to understand that in coming to a decision, we need to agree in a proper way and only argue with the idea in order to correct the idea.
